The purpose of the ADR standard is to prevent risks associated with the loading, unloading and transport of substances and objects that are dangerous for people and the environment, and for this reason classified at an international level according to their chemical-physical composition and the consequent possible dangerous reaction.

On 1 January 2021, the new regulation for the transport of dangerous goods by road ADR came into force.
